Overview
Prepare, validate, and import contacts while keeping phone numbers normalized and invalid rows visible for correction.
Before You Start
- A CSV file containing the contacts to import.
- Contact module access and available plan capacity.
- A selected import country code for local phone numbers when required.
Steps
1. Prepare the CSV
Use a header row and include the contact fields you want to map, including a phone column.
2. Open Contacts
Go to Contacts, choose the CSV import action, and upload the prepared file.
3. Map the columns
Match each CSV column to the corresponding Zappilo contact field and select the import country when local numbers do not contain a country code.
4. Review the preflight summary
Check eligible rows, duplicates, invalid values, plan capacity, and the per-upload limit before processing.
5. Process the import
Start the import after correcting blocking errors. Valid phone numbers are stored in international format with a leading plus sign.
6. Download or review errors
Use the existing error section to correct rows that could not be imported.
Recommended Practices
- Include a country code whenever possible.
- Remove duplicate contacts before uploading large files.
- Keep the import file within the Contacts per CSV Upload plan limit.
What Happens Next
Eligible contacts are stored with normalized phone numbers, while rejected rows remain available with clear validation messages.
